The Barachois and Area Development Committee (BADC) is a non-profit organization that was created in 2016 to promote community participation and to carry out projects identified in consultation with the residents of Barachois and the surrounding areas, and in collaboration with various community organizations. Such projects include Public Markets, the Discovery Circuit Trail, and the 350^th anniversary of Barachois in 2022.

The mission of the Barachois and Area Development Committee is to develop the communities of Barachois and the surrounding areas, to engage the community, to provide a quality of life, to ensure accessibility for seniors, to attract young families with children in order to continue the viability of the area, to revitalize the business scene, to promote the artistic endeavors of the residents of the community, and to share the incredible beauty of the area with the world.
