Through the Gespeg Interpretation site you can live the Mi’gmaq experience in Gaspé. Located on a promontory on the north shore of the Gaspé Bay, set against the mountain and just a stone’s throw away from the forest, the Micmac Interpretation Site at Gespeg will help you discover the indigenous nation from yesterday to today, its occupation of the Gaspé territory, its history and culture.
Explore the Mi’gmaq world through the interpretation center, souvenir shop and the faithful reconstruction of a traditional village and summer camp as found in the 17th century. Come visit rain or shine, and enjoy a unique experience on Mi’gmaq land in the presence of interpreter-guides and craftspeople who are members of the Nation. You’ll appreciate the indigenous ancestral know-how and the indigenous contribution to the Gaspé community.
